Frequently asked questions
How buying wholesale from Mercantile Japan works.
What is the MSRP shown on products?
The MSRP shown is Mercantile Japan’s estimate of a typical resale price in your local retail market, offered only as a guide to help you gauge your potential margin. It is not a Japanese retail price, not set by the brand, and does not bind your own pricing. Actual retail prices vary by country, channel, and store.
Who can see prices?
Prices are shown only to registered buyers. While your account is under review you see the MSRP for your market; once it is approved you see your wholesale prices and can order.
Which currency do you charge in?
All prices and invoices are in US dollars. Where a figure in your local currency appears beside a price, it is approximate and for reference only; you are always billed in USD.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes. Each order must reach a minimum value, and some brands set a minimum of their own. Your cart shows how much more is needed, and checkout opens once every minimum is met.
How is shipping charged?
Shipping is not charged at checkout. Once your goods are packed we send a separate shipping invoice for each shipment, and the order ships when it is paid.
Can I cancel an order?
You can cancel from your account while the order is new, within 24 hours of placing it and before a ship date is set. After that, please contact us. See the Terms of Sale for details.
What does “Made to order” mean?
The maker produces the item after your order is accepted. The lead time shown on the product page is an estimate of how long that usually takes.
